Very happy with my play selection & use in the 4th game. 36 out of 40 offense plays were used, and 29 out of 30 defenses! By now, you should be getting near there or the same, if not, you need to change it up. I can send you a breakdown of the settings and rules that are producing my play use numbers. The Off and Def sliders for personnel are the key. Rules control the Ai coach from making automatic calls. And for special situations like 4th and 0-1 to go.

Here are my breakdowns by personnel for comparison and review:

Offense 5wr...5/5, 2 plays used 10 times, 1.3 & 1.6 avg.
1te 4 wr, 2/5, 2 plays used 5 times, 3.5 & -2.5 avg
1rb4wr, 1 play, used 3 times, 0 avg.
so, those are the all pass formations, didnt do well but was good to see them used.

1-1-3: 7 plays used 21 times, 5/5/4/4/3/2/2.

1-2-2 : 3 plays used 10 times, 5/3/2

2rb3wr : 5 plays used 15 times, 6/5/2/1/1, the play used 6 times was an inside run, avg 1.8

2-1-2 : 8 plays used 25 times, 2 plays 5 each, both short pass (Hitch & Skinny Posts)

2-2-1 : 3 plays used 14 times, 6/5/3, pretty even spread, 2 runs and short pass.

23 GL : 2 plays used 4 times. Important use figure, check against yours to make sure that your GL offense is not being used in 1st and 10, med & long situations.

3-1-1 : 3 plays used 13 times, 5/5/3.

Defense...... 29 of 30 plays used!!

2 Goal Line def plays used 11 times, 8 #3/3 #2.

14 Normal Def Backfield plays, consisting of 9 43 Normal, 2- 46 Heavy, 3- 43 Under

Nickel, 3 plays used 10 times, need to increase that a little for a better mix.

43 Normal, 9 plays were used 46 times. would prefer to get that around 30-35.

46 heavy, 2 plays used 17 times, 10/7 (need to adjust, increase Nickel)

43 Under, 3 plays used 14 times, 10 Crash Right, which continues to be an overuse for many. We may have to eliminate the play to correct the problem, there are plenty of 43 plays that can be used instead and will not result in the Ai coach over-calling it.

Nickel Normal : 3 plays used 10 times, 2 of the Nickels gave up over 10 yds/play.

Dime Flat : 2 plays used 7 times, 4/3, even

Dime Normal : 7 plays used 25 times, more than I would like, will look at adjusting by Defense Secondary slider and adjusting play % in rule for 3rd and 8+ yds to go. The Dime will also be automatically called for 5 and 4 wr all pass play formations, so that will increase its use depending on how many of those plays the opposing offense calls.

My next opponent is Princeton, so my #s will be checked and confirmed, I took them right out of my off & def plays section, 1 game, Minimum 1 use. Please do the scouting on your opponent using the 1 game and 1 time minimum used. If there are problems with the play selection, and use, let your opponent know by PM. They should be getting 30 of 40 offense plays used, and 23 of 30 defensive plays used, without using a play 6 or more times.

Not sure what happened but I think his offense is the reason why my defensive selection was so limited. On offense a few plays said my opponent's defense has called the play a lot.

You only used 43 & 46, Normal Def plays. Was not due to his offense. He used GL defense too much, he did not have the GL rule in effect, and for some reason, his coach called the **** out of the GL in your game. So, we have a few, maybe half, that do not have their settings even close to getting the diversity level we are trying to do. What is your def play selection breakdown? 43/46 Normal, Nickel, Dime, Quarter, GL ?

I am adjusting my defensive playbook now. Will remove 43 & 46 plays and add more nickel and dime ones.

Made some adjustments for game 5 and had best play call performance to date.

off plays: 31 of 40 used...1 called 6 times for 0.3 yds/play
def plays: 23 of 30 used...1 called 8 times (goal line attack#2 w/rule in place). Have made adjustment for next game.

The toughest thing to overcome with play diversity on defense is 1. the use of the GL defense when and where it shouldnt be by the Ai Coach. 2. overuse of the 43 Crash Right, and 3. overuse of the 43/46 def plays.

We have a rule to solve #1. Dont have an answer for #2 other than eliminating the play. and for 3 you need to have more Nickel, Dime, and Quarter plays selected to balance it out.

Last game I had 26 out of 30 def plays used. GL/2/7. Normal/12/31, Nickel/3/4, Dime/8/24, and Quarter 1/2. I will need to increase the Nickel while cutting back on the 43/46 and Dime. Its also important to review your breakdown of plays by Secondary and Linebacker, mine was 1 deep man 7/25, 2 deep man 5/8, Man 11/27, 3 deep zone 0/0, 4deep zone 1/0, Corner Blitz 1/1, Safety Blitz 1/1, 2 deep zone 1/0, 3 deep man 1/0, 4 deep man 1/1.

So... even though I used 26 different defensive plays, the Normal & Dime defense were used much more than the other 3, which is not out too bad. The secondary used much more than the others were 1 deep man and man, 52 times total. Thats where getting the diversity is more difficult, most of us dont use the zone coverages much, if at all, in other leagues.
