Offense and Defense gameplan settings

The Ai has all of the "Offensive Gameplan" set to 10 each for play type. Lets try 30 max and 5 minimum, for starters.

For personnel, 20 max and 5 minimum.

If not sure about your selections, use the default Ai recommended settings. If we have problems with play and personnel overuse, we can always make it mandatory to use the Ai recommended settings for all.

Defense, Secondary .... 20 max & 5 minimum. Linebackers, same.

Keep rules to a minimum, for situations like 4th and 0-1 yds, more passing when behind and late in half or game, etc. There is no hiding play overuse, especially if it shows up in your game commentary and you get penalized for it. If you need help to get your play calling in balance, we will have a thread specifically for tips/advice/fixes for play overuse.

I will do my best to follow along, but tbh I have never used the built in gameplan, just couldn't wrap my head around it so I've just used Rules for all of my teams on both O and D
I'm pretty sure I can balance things out with rules to be similar to the AI gameplan just will take a few games

and as far as plays are you wanting 2 plays from each formation or 2 plays from each personnel set? Avail play groups do change by coach as well

both, other than the 1RB4WR group, only one play required there, lol. Ive never used a play from that personnel group.

Ok so in the 1TE/4WR I have 2 plays selected. Meets requirements.
However the 1TE/4WR is made up of both Empty 4 Wide as well as Single back Empty 4 so if your saying I need 2 plays from each formation that will put me at 4 plays from the 1TE/4WR personnel
also
with the 2RB/3WR personnel I have 5 plays selected. Meets requirements.
the 2RB/3WR is made up of Shotgun 2RB/3WR and Split back 3WR so in this case I would be required to shift play selection

also there is multiple formations with 2/1/2

I just want to be clear that the intention is to have 2 plays from each personnel group or 2 plays from each formation as well which changes a lot based on head coach. It makes it much more difficult to manage

Just want to be crystal clear because in earlier posts the discussions were centered around the "personnel" and now we are adding in the formations as well

The requirement was for personnel groups, but.... you bring up an interesting idea RnG, about 1 from each formation, which may not be good for performance/results on offense but good for variety. Worth consideration

Does this apply to preseason too? Cause I like to emphasize like just running or passing on the preseason to get a good comparison on same type of plays on the same opponent. I still use the max plays but they are usually most or all run or pass.

Yes, use the pre-season to get your play selection and use dialed in and varietal. Run half, pass half, if you want to get a good comparison overall. You only get 4 opponents in this first pre-season, the schedule on the team page only shows 3, so dont know how that works. Following an allocation draft, you should want to get your players as familiarized as possible with your play selection and use, with how certain plays vs certain players/teams a lower priority.
